Five individuals have been accused of cutting down 101 mango and jujube trees—comprising 47 mango saplings and 54 bearing jujube trees—following a land dispute in Nawabganj, Dinajpur.

The victim, Tara Mia, claimed a loss of approximately Tk 1.80 lakh and filed a written complaint at Nawabganj Police Station. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on the morning of October 20 in the Padumhar mauza under the 8th Mahmudpur union, where the accused—identified as Soma Orao, Arjun Orao, Shirin Soren, Fulmati Orao, and Sumon Orao—reportedly entered the land and destroyed the trees over a long-standing ownership dispute concerning land originally acquired from the accused's family decades ago.

Nawabganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Kuddus confirmed that a written complaint has been received and legal action will be taken following an investigation.
