
A woman seeking due money was allegedly held captive for several days and gang-raped in the Palpara area of ward no. 6 under Hakimpur municipality, Dinajpur. According to police and the case statement filed by the victim's mother, the woman went to collect money on September 30 and was confined until October 3 at the residence of Md. Ruhul Amin alias Rimon, where Rimon, Shukur Ali (55), and Ferdous Mia (50) repeatedly assaulted her against her will and threatened to viral recorded videos on social media.
Locals eventually intervened and detained two of the men, leading police to rescue the victim following a 999 emergency call.
Hakimpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Badshah Alam confirmed that a formal gang-rape case has been filed, Rimon and Shukur Ali have been arrested and sent to court, and efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect, Ferdous Mia.
