Azazul Islam, President of Pakshi Union Jubo Dal and Joint Convenor of Ishwardi Upazila Jubo Dal, has been accused of intercepting and detaining a goods-laden truck belonging to "Bangla Power Company," a waste management contractor for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon (October 7, 2026) near the Dashuria rail gate area in Ishwardi Upazila, Pabna. Company owner Md. Sohel Rana reported that the truck along with its driver and assistant were detained, whereas the accused Azazul Islam claimed the vehicle was temporarily stopped to resolve an internal business dispute regarding company partnership.

Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asadur Rahman Asad stated that police were dispatched to the scene, and since it was an internal business matter, the parties resolved the issue and the vehicle was subsequently released.
