The Parbatipur Upazila administration in Dinajpur announced that IP and CC cameras will be installed at 150 Puja Mandaps across the upazila for the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.

The decision was disclosed during a preparatory meeting for Durga Puja held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on Wednesday at 5:00 PM. Member of Parliament for the Parbatipur-Phulbari constituency, Alhajj AZM Rezwaniul Haq, attended the event as the chief guest.

The meeting was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Arafat Aman Aziz. Addressing the session, he stated, "Durga Puja is an integral part of our thousand-year-old tradition and culture. Law enforcement agencies will remain on constant alert in the field to ensure a peaceful celebration. This year, 150 Durga Pujas will be celebrated across the upazila. IP (Internet Protocol) and CC cameras along with fire extinguishers must be installed at every mandap. Volunteer deployment must be ensured after 12:00 midnight at each location, and separate exit routes for men and women must be arranged." He added that police, Ansar-VDP, BGB, and RAB will be deployed on the ground, supported by tag officers and a centralized monitoring cell to oversee the situation.

Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Sana Ullah informed that the government has increased the rice allocation to 600 kg per Puja Mandap this year, up from 500 kg in previous years. The rice allocations will be distributed to each mandap on October 12.

Among others who addressed the meeting were Senior Joint Convener of Upazila BNP Aminul Islam Shah, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Parbatipur Model Station A. Wadud, Fire Service Station Officer Hemayet Kabir, President of the Upazila Puja Udjapan Committee Kailash Prashad Sonar, General Secretary Dipesh Chandra Singha, and Municipal Branch President Pradip Datta.
