
In Lalmonirhat’s Aditmari upazila, local influential attackers allegedly occupied a government-allocated house in the Bagdirbazar Taluk Dulali Ashrayan Project after cutting the door open with a drill machine. According to a written police complaint filed by the victim family, 14 named individuals and 10 to 15 unidentified suspects carried out the attack on the morning of September 27, forcibly evicting elderly Bulbuli Begum and her daughter Rozina Begum from house no. 35, and severely beating them.
The accused allegedly looted valuables worth around Taka 2.20 lakh, including gold and silver ornaments and a sewing machine. While Rozina has been discharged after receiving treatment at the Aditmari Upazila Health Complex, the family remains homeless and trapped in extreme insecurity, wandering between hospitals, police stations, and courts.
Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazmus Sakib stated that a complaint has been received and legal action will be taken.
