Supreme Court lawyer, talk show personality, and retired Major Barrister M. Sarwar Hossain, alongside Pirojpur District BNP Convener Committee member and mayoral aspirant Akhteruzzaman Sheikh Rahat, visited various Durga Puja pandals across the Pirojpur Pourashava and district on Sunday (October 18, 2026).

During their visits to ten pandals in the municipal area and five to seven pandals in Zianagar upazila, they inspected security arrangements, inquired about the well-being of devotees, and exchanged festive greetings. Sheikh Rahat noted that he follows the ideals of his late father, freedom fighter and former municipal mayor M. D. Liaquat Ali Sheikh Badshah, while expressing steadfast solidarity for peaceful celebrations. Meanwhile, local authorities have deployed robust security measures, with 2,976 Ansar and VDP members stationed across 463 puja mandaps in the district’s seven upazilas.
