Palong Model Police Station arrested four individuals—including Abul Bashar Akon, the official car driver of the Damudya Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)—along with three women, from a residential building in Tulasar village, Shariatpur district town, on Sunday afternoon (October 18, 2026). Local residents reported that the flat, rented by Bashar on October 8, had become a hub for suspicious movements, drug consumption, and illicit activities involving frequent visits from unfamiliar men.

On Sunday morning, locals detained Bashar and the three women after finding the UNO's official vehicle parked outside and handed them over to the police, who recovered various drug consumption items from the scene. While the women claimed Bashar was a relative who had rented the place for them and denied involvement in immoral acts, driver Bashar admitted to having a personal relationship with them.

Palong Model Police Station SI Abdu Sukur confirmed that legal action will be taken based on senior directives, while Damudya UNO Salahuddin Aiyubi declined to comment.
