Police in Valuka, Mymensingh, have arrested a beauty parlor owner named Sathi Akhter for allegedly making derogatory and offensive remarks on social media targeting the government and political leaders. She was detained from the Square Masterbari area on Sunday night (October 25).

According to locals, Sathi Akhter broadcasted insulting comments regarding the government and political figures on Facebook while inside her beauty parlor on Sunday afternoon. The remarks quickly sparked outrage among local political activists and residents. Enraged locals and party workers gathered at her establishment in the Square Masterbari area to confront her.

As the situation grew increasingly tense during the questioning, locals alerted law enforcement. Valuka Model Police Station officers swiftly arrived at the scene, brought the situation under control, and took the accused into custody.

Valuka Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zahidul Islam confirmed that local residents detained the entrepreneur and handed her over to the police for her derogatory remarks. He added that legal proceedings are currently underway and the local situation remains calm.
