A mobile court in Bhandaria, Pirojpur, fined a trader Tk 20,000 for selling harmful, fake, and expired consumer goods during a targeted market surveillance operation.

The drive was conducted on Thursday noon (October 15, 2026) at a grocery and variety shop named "Sahid Kabiraj" in the Mishtipatti area of Bhandaria Bazar. The mobile court was led by Bhandaria Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md. Hasibul Hasan, with tactical support from Bhandaria Police Station personnel.

During the inspection, authorities uncovered the illegal sale of "Hydrose"—a toxic chemical agent hazardous to human health—alongside fake and past-expiry product inventory. Executive Magistrate Md. Hasibul Hasan penalized the business owner, Md. Sahidul Islam (60), under Sections 24 and 41 of the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 2018. The merchant was issued a strict warning against future non-compliance, with administration officials confirming that anti-adulteration mobile drives will continue across upazila markets to safeguard public health.
