Rangpur-3 Member of Parliament Md. Mahbubur Rahman Belal has criticized the ruling party, stating that despite promising reforms before the elections, the BNP has shifted its focus to amendments rather than structural changes, effectively running the nation through a partisan system. Speaking as the chief guest on Tuesday afternoon (October 6, 2026) at a youth dialogue titled "Post-Election Youth Thoughts" organized by the NGO The Hunger Project at the NGO Forum auditorium in Rangpur city, MP Belal accused the government of betraying the aspirations of martyred youth like Abu Sayed, Mugdha, and Wasim, claiming that introducing 91 bills out of 133 ordinances passed by the interim government amounts to a betrayal of the nation. Special guest and Rangpur-1 MP Md. Raihan Siraji echoed similar concerns, asserting that the administration has failed to curb extortion, corruption, and price hikes over the past six months while sidelining the Rangpur region in budget allocations. Presided over by district Sujan President Khandaker Fakhrul Anam Benju and moderated by regional coordinator Rajesh Dey Raju, the event featured prominent civil society members, student coordinators, and youth representatives who called for employment generation, drug control, good governance, and effective youth participation in policy-making.
