A new controversy has emerged in Rangpur's Pirganj upazila following the circulation of a 19-person fertilizer dealer recommendation list bearing the signature and official seal of Upazila BNP President Aminul Islam Ranga, submitted to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer on September 17. The document features the wives, sons, daughters, fathers-in-law, and cousins of local BNP president and general secretary alongside individuals linked to the Awami League, Jatiya Party, and Jamaat-e-Islami, sparking widespread allegations of nepotism, partisan bias, and multi-million taka financial transactions in dealer selection. While accusations of taking bribes ranging from Tk 15 lakh to Tk 27 lakh per union have gone viral on social media—prompting a show-cause notice against local BNP leader Ziaur Rahman for raising corruption concerns online and leading to a press conference by the upazila president and general secretary denying the allegations—Upazila Agriculture Officer Nilufa Yasmin and UNO Md. Zayed Imrul Mujakkin stated that no such official list was submitted through proper administrative channels and that transparent lists were independently compiled and forwarded by committees.
