In observance of Sharadiya Durgotsav, Chandanaish Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) S.M. Didarul Islam Sikdar inspected various Puja mandaps in the remote hilly Dhopachhari union of Chandanaish, Chittagong, on Tuesday (October 20, 2026).
Throughout the day, he visited the mandaps and engaged in discussions with leaders of the Puja Celebration Committee. During the inspection, OC Didarul Islam Sikdar assured that despite the area's remote hilly terrain, maximum security measures have been deployed by the police to ensure peaceful celebrations, urging residents to remain vigilant against rumors or unrest. He emphasized that police, Ansar personnel, and plainclothes intelligence operatives are stationed across all mandaps.
Highlighting Bangladesh as a nation of communal harmony where "religion belongs to individuals, but security belongs to everyone," the OC warned that any attempts to create chaos will be dealt with strictly. Local public representatives, Puja committee leaders, and journalists were also present during the visit.
