College student Mohammad Arman has alleged that a false case has been filed against him in Chakaria, Cox's Bazar, in retaliation to a court case filed regarding land grabbing and violence. Arman accused former municipal commissioner Nurul Amin and his associates of framing him by projecting a road accident victim as an assault casualty to harass him. According to Arman, on September 21 around 10:00 AM, a mob of 150 to 200 helmet-clad individuals raided his home, citing a 2007 deed, looted property, broke down boundary walls, and illegally occupied 39 decimals of land by fencing it with tin sheets and erecting a structure. When the land grabbers attempted further wall construction on September 24, Arman alerted local police, who halted the construction. However, Arman alleged that former commissioner Nurul Amin attacked his mother, Amena Begum, with a sharp weapon before police cleared the scene, nearly severing her right leg. She was rushed to Chakaria Government Hospital and later transferred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where she remains under treatment in Ward 26. Arman further stated that on October 1, the date of the alleged assault brought against him, he was physically present at the Cox's Bazar Speed Trial Court, while his brothers Emran and Abdul Hannan were attending to their hospitalized mother in Chittagong. Pointing out that earlier attacks on September 21 and 24 were widely documented on social media, Arman asserted that the October 1 incident never occurred and urged the Chakaria administration to conduct an impartial investigation and withdraw the baseless case against him.
