The closing parade of the basic training course for embodied Ansars was successfully held at the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy in Shafipur, Gazipur, on Thursday morning, November 5, 2026. The trainees took a firm pledge to dedicate themselves to national service with honesty, sincerity, and utmost professionalism.

Director General of the force, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, graced the occasion as the chief guest, taking the salute and reviewing the passing-out parade of the newly trained Ansar members.

Addressing the gathering after inspecting the parade, the Director General highlighted the vital contributions of embodied Ansar members in ensuring the security of the country's economy, industrial factories, and critical Key Point Installations (KPIs). He also outlined various welfare-oriented initiatives undertaken by the government, including the expansion of multifaceted facilities to ensure the professional dignity, privileges, and welfare of the members.

The Director General stated that over 55,000 embodied Ansar members are currently performing their duties with dedication and professionalism across more than 5,000 vital public and private institutions, industrial establishments, and KPIs in the country. To strengthen national security, the force's capacity in disaster management and emergency response will be further enhanced through expanded coordinated training and operations with the Fire Service and other agencies, he added.

Expressing deep gratitude to the embodied Ansar members who made sacrifices and sustained injuries while fulfilling their duties to protect government life, property, and vital installations, he remarked, "From thwarting robbery attempts at critical national facilities like the Matarbari Power Plant to countering the misdeeds of wrongdoers in various parts of the country, embodied Ansar members have been performing their duties with courage, vigilance, and professionalism. Their contributions have elevated the glory and dignity of the force."

Detailing various government initiatives to fulfill the long-standing expectations of embodied Ansar members, the Director General mentioned that the process of increasing their salaries is currently in its final stages. The long-awaited "rest system" (rest custom) has already been abolished. Furthermore, various activities have been undertaken to improve the living standards of the members, including upgrading housing facilities, creating opportunities for transfer within their respective divisions, and increasing the quality and quantity of rations. Reform and member welfare initiatives adopted in the post-2024 uprising period are being implemented in phases.

Addressing the graduating trainees, the chief guest said that from today they are proud Ansars of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party. This identity is not only a matter of great honor for them but also entails a crucial responsibility and commitment to the people and the state. He urged the newly trained embodied Ansar members to apply the knowledge acquired from their training to discharge their duties with honesty, sincerity, discipline, neutrality, and humanity in their practical workplaces.

He further stated, "As per the directives of the Honorable Prime Minister, embodied Ansar members have been deployed at every upazila health complex across the country. This has further expanded their role in ensuring smooth medical services for the general public alongside safeguarding the security and discipline of grassroots healthcare institutions."

He added that administrative management is being made more transparent and accountable to ensure members receive their rightful salaries, allowances, and other benefits, with strict measures implemented to prevent any middlemen from embezzling members' allowances.

The 60-day embodied Ansar basic training commenced on September 6, 2026. Out of 692 approved trainees, 654 participated, and 627 successfully completed the training. In the training competitions, Md. Sabikur Rahman from Khagrachhari district was adjudged the best trainee. The Director General distributed prizes and extended special congratulations to the meritorious trainees.

Towards the end of the ceremony, following the parade, a riot control security drill was demonstrated under the training program of the Turkish Gendarmerie team. Following the demonstration, the Director General stated that Ansar Battalions, Ansar Guard Battalions, and embodied Ansar members are fully prepared to perform their duties using their own capabilities to tackle any emergent situations. He noted that the force's capacity to control riots, chaos, and situations threatening public safety was recently reflected in handling the garment workers' protests in Gazipur.

The Director General thanked the Commandant of the Academy, instructors, concerned officers and staff, and all individuals involved with the training program for successfully conducting the course.

The event was also attended by Additional Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Brigadier General Mamunur Rashid, Commandant (Additional Director General) of Ansar and VDP Academy Md.
