Carrying the slogan "Wake up against drug addiction, right now," an introductory and review meeting between the Deputy Commissioner Md. Golam Rabbani and representatives of the "Social Initiative for Drug Prevention" was held in Pirojpur. The meeting took place on Sunday afternoon (November 1) at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room, emphasizing a coordinated effort between the administration and civil society to strengthen anti-drug social activities, raise public awareness, and combat drugs, juvenile delinquency, and various other social crimes.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Golam Rabbani stated that alongside raising social awareness to prevent drugs, juvenile delinquency, eve-teasing, and cybercrimes, families, educational institutions, and local communities must work together collectively. He assured the administration's full cooperation regarding necessary legal assistance and feasible logistical support to implement such initiatives. Proposals were raised during the meeting to form drug prevention committees at the ward, union, and upazila levels, establish awareness committees in educational institutions, and conduct leaflet distribution and promotional campaigns. Discussions also covered treatment and rehabilitation facilities for drug addicts, legal support for individuals involved in anti-drug activities, and rewarding active committee members to encourage participation. Additionally, the meeting highlighted the negative impacts of social issues and crimes on ongoing regional development activities and underscored the necessity of mutual cooperation among the administration, police, public representatives, journalists, and civil society to overcome developmental barriers.
