Four bullocks were stolen from the cowshed of a small cattle trader in Ishwardi, Pabna. The incident occurred late on Monday (November 2) night at the residence of Isrul Pramanik in the Jainagar Paschimpara Madrasa More area of the upazila. The estimated market value of the stolen cattle is around Tk 4.75 lakh.

The theft came to light on Tuesday (November 3) morning when Isrul Pramanik's son, Mohidul Islam, went to the cowshed to let the cattle out. Finding none of the four cattle in the shed around 6:00 AM, he informed his family members. As news of the incident spread, it created widespread anxiety across the area.

According to victimized family sources, one of the four stolen cattle had been reared at home, while the remaining three were purchased from a cattle market a few days ago. Isrul Pramanik bought the cattle using his hard-earned savings and borrowed funds.

Isrul Pramanik is a small cattle trader by profession, relying on buying and selling cattle to maintain his livelihood. Having lost the four cattle—the sole asset of his business—he and his family members are now utterly devastated. Beyond restarting his trade, the family is deeply concerned about how to repay their debts.

Isrul Pramanik and his son Mohidul Islam stated that they would inform the Ishwardi Police Station regarding the theft. They sought the cooperation of the administration to recover the stolen cattle, identify the individuals involved, and bring them to justice.

Regarding the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Md. Ashadur Rahman stated that no written complaint has been received yet regarding the cattle theft. Once a complaint is lodged, legal action will be taken following an investigation.
