The biennial general meeting (BGM) and election 2026 of the Bishwanath Probashi Education Trust UK were successfully held in a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere on Sunday (October 18, 2026) at a party center near London. Out of 808 total trustees of the organization—the largest non-political association of expatriate Bishwanath upazila residents in the UK—749 cast their votes to elect a 17-member Board of Management committee for the 2026–2028 term. Prior to voting, the BGM was chaired by outgoing Chairperson Mafiz Khan and conducted by outgoing Secretary Golzar Khan, featuring financial reviews and annual reports.

The election featured a fierce contest between two rival panels: "Golzar-Kuddus-Monir" and "Misbah-Mohabbat-Nesar." Following polling from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Chief Election Commissioner and prominent UK Immigration Judge Belayet Hossain, alongside commissioners A.K.M. Yahhia, Prof. Nurul Islam, Prof. Muhammad Abdul Matin, and Abul Kahar, officially announced the results at 10:00 PM UK time.

Golzar Khan won the Chairperson post with 393 votes (defeating Misbah by 37 votes), Mohammad Mohabbat Sheikh secured the Secretary post with 389 votes (defeating Abdul Kuddus by 45 votes), and Monir Ahmad claimed the Treasurer post with 384 votes (defeating Nesar Ali Lilu by 35 votes).

Other elected office-bearers include Akhlakur Rahman and Azam Khan as Vice-Chairpersons, Abdur Rahim Ranju and Shariful Islam as Joint Secretaries, Abul Hossain Mamun as Assistant Treasurer, Mohammad Dolat Hossain as Press and Publicity Secretary, and Modris Ali Mofojjal as Cultural Secretary, alongside seven executive committee members.
