To empower women and secure their economic independence, household data collection for the government’s flagship "Family Card" initiative is progressing rapidly across Pirganj upazila in Rangpur. The field-level drive officially launched on October 13.
According to official sources, a trained field force comprising 19 supervisors and 185 enumerators has been deployed. In the initial phase, enumerators are conducting door-to-door surveys across Modankhali, Kabilpur, and Mithipur unions, using specialized tablet devices to input data directly into a centralized online database. Eligible beneficiaries will subsequently be selected through the Proxy Means Test (PMT) system. Pirganj Upazila Social Services Officer Saifullah Al-Mamud stated that close monitoring is being maintained to ensure complete accuracy, confirming that the program will expand to all remaining unions in the upazila.
