The Barguna District Muktijoddha Sangsad has strongly condemned and protested the obstruction and disrespect shown by Jamaat-Shibir cadres regarding the Janaza, burial, and last rites of valiant Freedom Fighter Manik Pashari in Pirojpur following his demise. Furthermore, they demanded a prompt, fair investigation into the incident, the immediate bringing of those involved to justice, and exemplary punishment.
Barguna freedom fighters staged this program on Tuesday (November 3) through a protest rally and human chain in Barguna, in accordance with the decision adopted at a protest meeting held by the Central Command Council of the Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad on November 2.
Expressing deep outrage during the protest rally, speakers stated that following the death of Freedom Fighter Manik Pashari in Pirojpur, the enemies of independence created inhumane hurdles against his Janaza and burial procedures. A valiant freedom fighter risked his life fighting for the country's independence and sovereignty, they noted, adding that we are citizens of an independent nation today precisely because of their supreme sacrifices. It is extremely shameful and painful that even after so many years of independence, a freedom fighter is obstructed from receiving a dignified burial upon death, they remarked.

The rally issued a strong demand to the incumbent Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) government to ensure absolute security for freedom fighters across Bangladesh. Additionally, they urged the authorities to identify those involved in this heinous anti-liberation act and take strict legal action against them.
Speaking on behalf of the freedom fighters of Barguna district, it was clearly stated that any devaluation of the honor and sacrifices of freedom fighters will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Safeguarding the honor of valiant freedom fighters equates to honoring the independence and history of Bangladesh's Liberation War, they added.
Freedom fighters from various upazilas of Barguna district, members of freedom fighter families, and local dignitaries were present at the protest rally and human chain.
