Human Chain Formed in Parbatipur Demanding Union Parishad Building at Original Location
Residents of Mostafapur Union form a human chain at the Parbatipur Upazila Parishad premises on Thursday demanding the construction of the Union Parishad building at its original site.

Residents of Mostafapur Union in Parbatipur, Dinajpur, formed a human chain and submitted a memorandum demanding that the union parishad building be established at its original location.

The human chain was organized by local residents on Thursday afternoon at the Upazila Parishad premises. Union Krishak Dal President Mamtaz Ali Mondal, Ward No. 1 Member Azhar Ali Nayan, BNP leader Abu Sayeed Mondal, and Hafez Azizur Rahman Suman addressed the gathering.

Speakers stated that the Mostafapur Union Parishad building was established at Mostafapur Bazar in 1964, and all official activities have been conducted from there ever since. Recent news of plans to relocate the new building elsewhere sparked widespread resentment among the villagers, leading to the demonstration to draw authority attention. They warned of tougher protests if the new building is not constructed at the previous site immediately. Following the demonstration, protesters handed over a memorandum to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Arafat Aman Aziz confirmed receiving the memorandum, stating that further action will be taken based on directives from higher authorities.
