
The meeting took place on Sunday (October 11) at 10:00 AM in the conference room of the Munshiganj District Administration. Presided over by Deputy Commissioner Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafy, the meeting was attended by Member of Parliament for Munshiganj-3, Md. Kamruzzaman Ratan, as the chief guest.
Other attendees included Police Superintendent Md. Menhazuzzaman PPM, District Council Administrator Mr. A. K. M. Iradat Hossain Manu, Deputy Director (Local Government) Ms. Mousumi Mahbub, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sajeda Begum, Additional District Magistrate Mr. Jubayer Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officers from all districts, and representatives of various law enforcement agencies.
The meeting emphasized maintaining a strict stance against drugs and juvenile gangs to ensure overall law and order in the district, conducting regular task force operations to control crime, and maintaining close supervision by relevant departments.
In her presidential speech, Deputy Commissioner Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafy said, "Munshiganj is a district of communal harmony and a city of tradition. To ensure that the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja is celebrated in a peaceful, orderly, and festive environment, everyone concerned must perform their duties in a coordinated manner. Ansar forces will play a special role in this regard. Ansar members assigned to each Puja mandap must perform their duties with professionalism and responsibility, and regularly provide information to the control room established in the Upazila Nirbahi Officer's office. Additionally, executive magistrates and other law enforcement agencies must properly execute their respective responsibilities."
Nurmahal further mentioned that administrative efforts to control LPG prices are ongoing. Operations to preserve mother hilsa are underway, and a strict stance has been maintained against the use and marketing of banned current nets. She urged all relevant departments to intensify their activities to prevent environmental pollution.
The Deputy Commissioner stated, "The members of the District Law and Order Committee are not competitors of one another, but rather collaborators. The responsibility for implementing the decisions taken in this meeting lies with all concerned departments. Where there are problems, they must be identified and resolved through coordinated initiatives. The fulfillment of designated responsibilities by each department must be ensured."
Following the District Law and Order Committee meeting, meetings were also held for the District Terrorism and Sabotage Prevention Committee, District Court Assistance Committee, District Anti-Smuggling Task Force Committee, District Monitoring Committee on Sensational and Heinous Cases, District Acid Control Committee, District Child Marriage Prevention Committee, District Women and Children Repression Prevention Committee, District Narcotics Control Committee, District Safe Food Management Committee, and District Consumer Rights Protection Committee.
