Abdullah Al Mamun Dulal (52), director of Rowzatul Atfal Nurani and Hifzul Quran Madrasah in Jalsuka village, Gohalakada union, Purbadhala Upazila, Netrokona, was arrested by police on Sunday night (October 18, 2026) following allegations of sexually assaulting a 10-to-11-year-old child working at his pharmacy, Ma Medical. The victim, who previously studied at the madrasah before financial hardship forced him to stop his studies and take up work at the shop, was allegedly called into Dulal’s bedroom around 9:30 PM after finishing work and subjected to abuse.

Upon returning home and falling ill, the child informed his family, prompting local residents to detain the suspect and alert authorities. Upazila administration officials, including Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. The victim was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for medical examination and treatment, and a formal case has been filed resulting in the suspect's arrest for court presentation.
