Logen Hasda (55), a veteran snake charmer widely known locally as "Pagol," died from a snakebite at his home in Chalnipara village, 8 No. Mahmudpur Union, Nawabganj Upazila, Dinajpur, on Monday morning (October 19, 2026).

Having spent around 30 years performing with snakes and practicing as an ojhā (traditional healer), Hasda was preparing for a performance when a "machhaoli" snake bit him as he tried taking it out of a box at home.

He was rushed to the upazila health complex and subsequently transferred to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital as his condition worsened, where he passed away during treatment. Local Union Parishad Chairman Hasan Salauddin Masum confirmed the incident.
