Out of 17 students who participated in the HSC examinations this year from Dobaura Technical School and College in Mymensingh, only two have passed, while the remaining 15 failed, resulting in a dismal pass rate of just 11.76 percent.

Established at a cost of approximately Tk 23 crore, the modern educational institution features multi-story buildings, necessary infrastructure, and 22 teaching and non-teaching staff. However, the examination results fail to reflect this massive public investment.

Local education enthusiasts and conscious circles have expressed deep concern over such poor results in a heavily funded technical institution, questioning why it failed to achieve expected success despite modern infrastructure and manpower.

Established in 2022 to build skilled human resources and expand technical education in remote areas, the institution has suffered from student shortages since its inception, failing to overcome the crisis in four years. The recent HSC results have further raised questions regarding educational quality and academic management.

Principal Anisur Rahman Bhuiyan claimed that the examinees were among the institution's earliest batches, many of whom had dropped out from other schools before enrolling, leading to the poor performance.

Dobaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mosharrof Hossain stated that the success of only two out of 17 students is extremely regrettable. He noted that he has discussed the matter with the college principal, and the reasons behind the result debacle will be addressed in the upazila education committee meeting while informing higher authorities.
