The triennial general election of the Parbatipur Cloth Merchants Development Association has been successfully completed in Parbatipur upazila, Dinajpur. Voting took place on Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in a festive atmosphere among local traders and voters.
According to election officials, out of 194 total voters, 173 cast their ballots. Following the vote count, Chief Election Commissioner Aminul Haq,
along with Assistant Election Commissioners Ahsanullah and Kamal Kumar Das, officially announced the results. Rakibul Islam was elected President with 92 votes, while Rezaul Karim secured the General Secretary post with 85 votes. Among other positions, Asaduzzaman Bipul was elected Vice President (127 votes), Sayedur Morsalin Joni as Assistant Secretary (118 votes), and Jalaluddin as Organizational Secretary (95 votes).
Additionally, Jahurul Haq was elected Treasurer and Mahmudul Alam Faruk was elected Office Secretary unopposed as they faced no contesting candidates.
