A devastating fire reduced a residential house to ashes in Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni district, causing an estimated loss of around Tk 18 lakh, including cash, furniture, and Tk 50,000 in loan money. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on Thursday (October 1) at the home of Moktar Hossain in Machimpur Kazi Bari under Jayloskor Union No. 8 of the upazila.

Members of the Feni Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the scene upon receiving the news, but the house and its belongings were completely gutted before the flames could be brought under control. Affected family member Khaleda Akhtar Nasrin stated that all valuables, furniture, essential household items, and cash were burned, resulting in damage amounting to nearly Tk 18 lakh. Fire service personnel initially suspected an electrical short circuit to be the cause of the fire, pending a full investigation.
