A special police operation in Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni led to the recovery of 10 kilograms of cannabis concealed inside a travel bag after drug peddlers fled the scene on a motorcycle upon sensing law enforcement presence.
According to police sources, a team from Daganbhuiyan Police Station was conducting a routine law and order and anti-narcotics drive in the Beker Bazar area on Friday (October 9, 2026) when they signaled a suspicious motorcycle carrying two riders to stop.
Instead of complying, the riders accelerated to escape, prompting police to give chase, during which the suspects dropped their travel bag by the roadside and sped away. Upon searching the abandoned bag, officers seized 10 kilograms of cannabis.
Daganbhuiyan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faizul Azim Noman confirmed that the recovered contraband has been brought into police custody, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the fleeing suspects, with preparations ongoing to file a regular case under the Narcotics Control Act.
