The Ukhiya Upazila administration held a preparatory meeting on Monday afternoon (October 19, 2026) at the Upazila Parishad hall room to discuss the celebration of the upcoming Probarona Purnima and Kothin Chibor Dan festival-2026 across 60 Buddhist monasteries in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar. Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Panna Akter, the meeting emphasized ensuring a peaceful, festive celebration while maintaining communal harmony and mutual coexistence.
The gathering was attended by Ukhiya Upazila BNP President Sarwar Jahan Chowdhury, Upazila Jamaat Secretary Sultan Ahmad, Rajapalong Union Parishad Acting Chairman Mir Shahedul Islam Roman, and various other religious leaders and community representatives. UNO Panna Akter urged all stakeholders to work in a coordinated manner to uphold peace and harmony throughout the celebrations.
