The police recovered the body of a 65-year-old woman named Halima Begum from a bamboo grove in Chilimpur Talbona area under Alampur Union, Dhamoirhat Upazila, Naogaon, on Monday morning (October 19, 2026).

Halima, daughter of the late Alimuddin Mondal, had been living with her brothers at her paternal home following her divorce about thirty years ago. According to her younger brother, Majnu Hossain, she went to sleep after dinner on Sunday night, and her body was discovered in the bamboo grove east of the house at dawn.

Locals suspect she was murdered and dumped there, noting signs of injury on her body and ears. Dhamoirhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Minto Rahman confirmed that police recovered the body, completed an initial inquest report, and sent it to the morgue for an autopsy. Police are actively trying to arrest those involved in the incident.
