State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad has warned that any evil force attempting to conspire against the Teesta Master Plan will not be spared, amidst various discussions taking place both at home and abroad. He stated that those involved in such conspiracies will be identified and brought to justice, adding that the Prime Minister is scheduled to officially inaugurate the much-awaited Teesta Master Plan by December 2027.
He made these remarks while speaking to journalists on Thursday (October 29) afternoon after inspecting the Teesta Barrage area.
"There are various discussions going on both domestically and internationally regarding the Teesta project. In this situation, if any evil force attempts a far-reaching conspiracy involving our activities, they will not be spared," he said.
Highlighting the progress of the Teesta Master Plan implementation, Farhad Hossain Azad mentioned that the feasibility study report for the project is nearly complete. The State Minister for Planning has already concurred and signed the relevant documents. Following the Finance Minister's return to the country, his signature next week will further advance the process.
He added that once the feasibility study report is finalized, opinions from foreign experts will be sought to prepare the Development Project Proposal (DPP). This phase is expected to take around 9 to 10 months, after which the tendering process will begin. Completing these stages, the administration plans to have the Prime Minister officially inaugurate the Teesta Master Plan by December 2027.
