An investigative inquiry has brought to light local concerns and questions regarding a newly built, eye-catching multi-story residence in Datpur East Para village under Jamdia Post Office in Bagherpara Upazila, Jashore. Built by Md. Sazedur Rahman (Shawon), son of Md. Saiful Islam and currently serving as an Assistant Engineer at the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB/PDB) in Chattogram, the property has stirred significant local discussion due to its rapid construction within just four and a half years of his job entry.
Local residents claim that the total expenditure for constructing the modern white building—featuring multiple spacious rooms, wide verandas, glass railings, decorative features, and landscaped gardens—is estimated to be close to one crore taka. Given his short professional tenure, community members have raised questions regarding the source of funds and called upon relevant authorities to verify whether the construction costs were covered through official salary and allowances, family assets, inheritance, bank loans, or other legitimate income sources.
