Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Thana Police arrested a 28-year-old man named Md. Hossen while he was allegedly preparing to commit a mugging in the Pahartali area of Cox's Bazar town. Police recovered three locally made iron knives from the scene during the operation conducted at the foot of Sattar Ghona hill under Ward 7 on Thursday night (October 1).

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Police Inspector Somen Kumar Barua, SI Mithun Palit, and SI Riyad raided the area. Detecting police presence, four to five accomplices fled the scene, but officers managed to chase down and detain Md. Hossen. A search at the location led to the seizure of three iron knives abandoned by the group. Hossen, son of the late Saber Ahmad from the Matiyatali Road area in Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila, faces legal proceedings initiated by Sadar Model Thana Police.
