An allegation has been raised regarding the illegal construction of a shop on an access road located in the Dhap Jail Road area of Rangpur city, leading to a dispute between the property owner and the accused party. Following a written complaint, an on-site investigation by the Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Property Department confirmed that the pillars of the newly constructed shop were erected on the road, thereby narrowing the passage.
According to the written complaint filed with the RCC, Dr. Md. Naushad Ali purchased the land in the Dhap Shyamali Lane area in 2017. He alleged that an individual named Nur Miya set up a tea stall in the middle of an eight-foot-wide access road specified in the deed, reportedly under the direction of Syed Anwarul Hasin (Harun). Meanwhile, Mahbub, the husband of Shahrin Hasin Bina (named in the investigation report as the constructor), dismissed the allegations as baseless, claiming the construction sits entirely on their legally owned property following prior boundary measurements.
The Rangpur City Corporation has issued notices to both parties to refrain from further construction and appear for a hearing on October 4 with valid ownership documentation.
