Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Feni tomorrow (Thursday, October 1) for the first time since assuming office, sparking immense enthusiasm and festive preparations across the district. Feni-1 (comprising Phulgazi, Parshuram, and Chagalnaiya), the ancestral district of his mother and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, holds deep emotional and political significance.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the rehabilitation work of the Muhuri-Kahua flood control, drainage, and irrigation project in Parshuram to address chronic flooding and waterlogging issues. Additional itinerary plans include tree plantation at Begum Khaleda Zia Government Women's College, launching solar power supply to the national grid from government offices, and participating in welfare initiatives such as family cards, farmer cards, and honorariums for imams and priests.
Local MP Munshi Rafiqul Alam and residents have expressed high hopes that the visit will also pave the way for long-awaited regional developments, including a local medical college and university.
