Serious allegations of irregularities, corruption, financial embezzlement, and drug abuse have been raised against Mizanur Rahman, the acting principal of Laldighi Pirpal BM College in Radhanagar union of Badarganj upazila, Rangpur.
A recent field visit to the college revealed that out of 92 enrolled students across the first and second years, only 15 to 18 were present, and regular classes are severely disrupted due to teacher absenteeism, a lack of administrative oversight, and an absent governing body over the past three years.

He is accused of spending TR project funds from the 2024-25 fiscal year personally rather than depositing them in the bank, cutting down and selling a 25-year-old mahogany tree, failing to pay staff bonuses for three years, and hiding exam center accounts. Additional complaints include failing to pay expenses incurred by Badarganj Model Multipurpose High School when used as an exam venue, and holding drug-fueled gatherings in his office with outsiders after hours—though Acting Principal Mizanur Rahman has vehemently denied these allegations, claiming he is being harassed by a local faction.
Local elders, including college founder and former MP Anisul Islam Mondal, expressed deep concern over the collapse of the institution's academic environment and called for a thorough investigation, including a dope test. Khandaker Md. Nahid Hasan, Regional Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Directorate of Technical Education, Rangpur region, stated that they are aware of the situation and will take action following an investigation.
