Police recovered the hanging body of a tiles mason, Md. Rubel Hossain (32), from a rented house in Biltali Union under Chandanaish Upazila, Chattogram, on Saturday evening (October 10, 2026). The body was recovered around 6:30 PM from a tin-shed rented room owned by Haji Sirajul Islam in the Dighi East Bank area of Ward 4 of the union, where Rubel was found hanging from a wooden beam with a gamcha. Rubel was the son of the late Md. Khorshedul Alam of Siddique Miah's house in Ward 3 of Biltali Union.

According to police and local sources, a co-worker went to Rubel's rented house to call him for work and raised an alarm upon finding him hanging inside. Locals rushed to the spot and informed the police, who subsequently recovered the body and prepared a surat hal (inquest) report. Locals reported that Rubel had ongoing family disputes over online gambling and drug addiction, which is initially believed to have driven him to commit suicide.
