The Roumari police arrested two individuals with 320 pieces of Yaba tablets during an anti-narcotics drive in Kurigram's Roumari upazila. Acting on a tip-off, a special team from Roumari Police Station conducted the operation on Tuesday night (September 29) at around 9:45 PM in the Chuliar Char area. The detainees are Md. Babu Mia (35), son of Lebu Mia, and Md. Motaleb (40), son of Mujibor Rahman, both residents of the Chuliar Char area.

Under the direction of Roumari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kawsar Ali, the team led by SI Paritosh Chandra Sarkar, PSI Syed Md. Adnan Noor, ASI Prodip Chandra Roy, and ASI Sohel Rana conducted body searches in the presence of local witnesses and recovered the drugs. Officer-in-Charge Kawsar Ali stated that a total of 2,800 Yaba tablets have been seized during anti-narcotics operations since September 1, while 28 gamblers have also been arrested. Legal proceedings under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 are currently underway against the accused.
