Officials from RAB-13 and the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection penalizing establishment owners during an anti-price gouging raid in Parbatipur, Dinajpur.

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) conducted a joint raid in Parbatipur, Dinajpur, imposing a total fine of BDT 1,00,000 on two commercial establishments for selling Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders at inflated prices.

According to a press release issued by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Biplob Kumar Goswami, the penalties were levied following verified intelligence regarding artificial price spikes and illegal hoarding of cooking gas cylinders in the area. During the anti-hoarding drive, M/S Mondal Traders and M/S Rajab & Brothers in Parbatipur town were each fined BDT 50,000 under applicable market regulatory laws. Authorities reiterated that strict surveillance and joint enforcement operations against illegal hoarding, price manipulation, adulteration, and price gouging of essential commodities will continue across the region to safeguard consumer interests.
