A worker named Hafez Al-Amin (30) died from electrocution at a poultry farm in Ishwardi. The incident occurred on Monday morning (October 26) in the Naodapara area of Dashuria Union.

The deceased, Al-Amin, was the son of Arop Sardar from the Dargapara area of Muladuli Union and a former khadem (caretaker/attendant) at the Ishwardi Central Jame Mosque.

According to reports, Sajib Hossain—son of Muktar Hossain from Jagannathpur village in Salimpur Union—had rented a poultry farm in the Naodapara area. To prevent the theft of chickens, he had laid live electrical wires around the perimeter of the farm. Locals stated that Al-Amin, who worked at the farm, was unaware of this.

On Monday, as he did every day, Al-Amin arrived at the farm to begin work after performing the Fajr (dawn) prayers. While there, he came into contact with the live wires laid around the shed and was electrocuted, dying on the spot.

Upon receiving the news, personnel from the Rooppur Modern Fire Service and Civil Defence arrived at the scene, disconnected the power supply, and recovered Al-Amin’s body.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Shafiqur Rahman of the Ishwardi Police Station stated that the farm owner, Sajib Hossain, is accused of creating an unsafe environment by laying live electrical wires. He is currently on the run, and his mobile phone has been switched off since the incident.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station, Md. Ashadur Rahman, confirmed that police were dispatched to the scene following the accident. The body will be sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy. Necessary legal proceedings are underway, and an 'Unnatural Death' (UD) case will be registered at the police station. As there are no complaints (alleging foul play), the body will be handed over to the family.
