Upazila administration in Pirganj, Rangpur, seized more than a thousand sacks of counterfeit fertilizer and adulterated cattle feed (wheat bran) following searches across multiple warehouses in Kalsardara Market under Ramnathpur Union.
The search operation was conducted on Saturday afternoon in warehouses owned by Mokhlesur Rahman and Maidul Islam Babu in Kalsardara Market. Along with the fake fertilizer and cattle feed, various equipment and materials used to manufacture the counterfeit products were also confiscated during the drive.
Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullahil Bakiul Bari, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sumon Sarkar, Pirganj Police Station Investigation Officer Tajul Islam, assistant agriculture officers, and local media representatives were present at the scene during the operation.
The Upazila Nirbahi Officer stated that samples of the seized fake fertilizer and cattle feed will be sent for laboratory testing, and necessary legal action will be taken based on the report.
