
A man named Mukul Hossain (38) was killed by a stick blow from his elder brother following a family dispute over dumping household garbage in Birampur, Dinajpur. The incident took place on Monday (October 5) around 8:00 PM in Krishtachandpur village of Birampur municipality.
The deceased, Mukul Hossain, was the son of the late Monir Hossain from that village. He was an auto-rickshaw driver by profession.
According to local sources, Mukul Hossain had an argument with his elder brother, ATM Shamsuzzaman, over dumping household garbage. At one point, a clash broke out between the two brothers. During the incident, Mukul was seriously injured by a stick blow from Shamsuzzaman.
Family members rescued him and took him to the Birampur Upazila Health Complex. As his condition was critical, the doctor advised taking him to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. However, Mukul passed away while preparations were underway to take him to the hospital.
Locals mentioned that the accused, ATM Shamsuzzaman, is a headmaster at a government primary school. Following the incident, he and a few family members fled the house.
Birampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzaq said, "It is primarily known that the younger brother was killed by the elder brother's stick blow due to a family dispute. The body has been sent to the Dinajpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal actions have been taken regarding this incident, and police operations are underway to arrest the accused."
