
The ๐ก๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐ท๐ผ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐น๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ was held at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, marking the successful completion of an industry-oriented AI skills development training program aimed at strengthening youth skills, technological capacity, and Bangladesh-Japan cooperation in artificial intelligence.
"Nippon AI Dojo" is an industry-oriented AI training and human resource development initiative organized by CHOWA GIKEN Corporation and AI SAMURAI JAPAN, with support from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The ๐๐น๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ was organized by the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) in collaboration with CHOWA GIKEN Corporation, Japan, and AI SAMURAI JAPAN, strengthening Bangladesh-Japan relations and fostering academia-IT industry engagement to develop practical AI skills and promote innovation. Mr. Zahir Uddin Swapon, Political Adviser to the Honโble Prime Minister, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Qayum Reza Chowdhury, Chairman (In-charge), Board of Trustees, UAP, and Treasurer, Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB), attended as the Special Guest. Prof. Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, Acting Vice Chancellor, UAP, chaired the event. Representatives of the collaborating universities - North South University (NSU), BRAC University (BRACU), and University of Asia Pacific (UAP) delivered speeches at the program. Mr. Takuya Nakamura, CEO, CHOWA GIKEN Corporation, Japan, delivered the opening speech. Ms. Morikawa Yuko, Senior Representative, JICA, Bangladesh addressed the program. Mr. Akihiro Shoji, JICA Expert, Bangladesh, was present as an honored guest. Dr. Md Rashedul Islam, Manager, R&D Offshore AI Group, CHOWA GIKEN Corporation, delivered the closing remarks. A key highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of AI-based projects developed by students from BRAC University, North South University, and the University of Asia Pacific. The projects demonstrated practical applications of AI, innovative thinking, and technology-based approaches to addressing real-world challenges. Two teams consisting of 5 members each, a total of 10 students from each collaborating universities presented their solution for the given project. A total of 30 selected students took part in the program. Among the participating teams, a team from the University of Asia Pacific emerged as the winner of the Group-1 category, and a team from BRAC University won the Group-2 category of the Nippon AI Dojo 2026. The achievement highlighted the technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities of the participants. Certificates were distributed among 30 students, while the winning teams were recognized for their outstanding skills, creativity, and contributions throughout the program. This initiative by the CHOWA GIKEN Corporation, Japan and AI SAMURAI JAPAN, highlighted the importance of strengthening Bangladesh-Japan cooperation in AI, technology, skills development, and industry-academia engagement. Through this collaboration among UAP, CHOWA GIKEN Corporation, Japan, and AI SAMURAI JAPAN, the university further expanded opportunities for UAP students to gain practical exposure to emerging technologies and develop industry-relevant skills. Honโble Members of the Board of Trustees of UAP, delegates from different universities including the University of Dhaka (DU), Daffodil International University (DIU), United International University (UIU), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), and East West University (EWU), along with faculty members, officials, students, and other members of the UAP community attended the ceremony.
