A Dhaka court has ordered popular actress Tanjin Tisha to appear in person on November 23 to show cause regarding a fresh lawsuit accusing her of issuing death threats and intimidating complainant Sanaya Anam Wafikah Chowdhury.
Executive Magistrate Mu. Mahbub-ul-Alam issued the order on Monday (October 26, 2026) after fashion designer Sanaya Anam Wafikah Chowdhury filed the lawsuit. Confirming the ruling, the plaintiff’s lawyer Advocate Shuvro Sinha Roni stated that the court directed Tanjin Tisha to present herself in court on November 23 and explain her position.
The fresh complaint stems from an ongoing legal battle initiated on November 27, 2025, where Sanaya sued Tisha over fraud and breach of trust involving a BDT 75,000 designer saree. Sanaya alleged that after filing the initial suit, Tisha repeatedly threatened her, sent individuals to her residence in Pallabi to intimidate her into withdrawing the case, and caused her severe personal insecurity. The development comes just a day after the court rejected a PBI clearance report following a naraji (disagreement) petition from the plaintiff, officially transferring the primary saree fraud case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
