British pop sensation Ed Sheeran's unexpected entry into Bollywood has created a massive wave across the music industry. His debut Hindi film track, 'Tu Mil Jaye'—composed by Sachin-Jigar and featuring playback singer Arijit Singh for Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King—smashed records by crossing 60 million views across various platforms in its first 24 hours (including 36.3 million views on YouTube alone) following its release on November 2, 2026, coinciding with Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st birthday.
Sharing the behind-the-scenes story on Instagram, Sheeran revealed that the collaboration began during a visit to Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, in 2025. Sheeran had initially visited to invite SRK for a special appearance in the music video for their collaborative track "Sapphire". During the meeting, Khan invited him to lend his voice to his next cinematic project. Introduced to music directors Sachin-Jigar that very evening, Sheeran wrote and recorded his vocal portions in a single night.
