Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action thriller ‘King’ has created pre-release history in Indian cinema by securing a record-breaking ₹175 crore minimum guarantee deal for its international theatrical distribution rights.
According to Indian media reports, no Indian film had previously breached the ₹100 crore mark for standalone overseas distribution rights. International rights distributor Phars Films acquired the global distribution rights for King, taking over from Yash Raj Films, which handled SRK's previous blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan.

This target aligns with SRK's recent global benchmarks, as both Pathaan and Jawan crossed ₹400 crore internationally. Directed by Siddharth Anand, King features a star-studded ensemble cast including Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Raghav Juyal, and Saurabh Shukla. A major highlight of the film is the first-ever on-screen collaboration between real-life father and daughter Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. The film is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
