Ten female students of Chakamaia Betmor Secondary School fell ill suddenly while on school premises in Kalapara, Patuakhali. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

The affected students were rescued and immediately rushed to the Kalapara Upazila Health Complex, where they are currently undergoing medical treatment.

Among the ill students are Taifa (Grade 8), Jakia Sultana (Grade 10), Nusrat Jahan (Grade 8), Maria (Grade 7), Mim (Grade 10), Labia (Grade 7), Nusrat (Grade 10), Sanjida (Grade 10), and Sadia (Grade 8).

Md. Mahabullah Linton, Headmaster of the school, explained that Jakia Sultana, a 10th-grade student, suddenly fell ill first. As several other students rushed to assist her, they also began feeling sick one by one. Seeing their condition deteriorate, school authorities transported all ten students to the upazila health complex.

A similar incident had taken place recently at Dhankhali ME Secondary School in the same upazila, where several students also fell ill suddenly. Back-to-back incidents across two schools have triggered growing anxiety and concern among local parents and guardians.

The exact cause behind the sudden illness of the students has not been immediately confirmed by medical officials.
