At least 12 people, including two Bangladeshi expatriates, were killed and more than 300 injured after a devastating attack targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday afternoon (October 10, 2026).
This marks the third attack on Riyadh's primary airport within a single week. According to Saudi civil aviation authorities and reports from Reuters and the Associated Press (AP), the deceased include four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshis, and one citizen each from Palestine, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Sudan. Eyewitnesses reported a loud explosion in the sky followed by the collapse of a roof section near the departure gates.
Emergency personnel deployed over a dozen ambulances and medical helicopters to transport the critically injured to nearby hospitals. Saudi authorities immediately suspended all airport operations, rerouted incoming flights, and cordoned off entry routes to inspect structural safety. While Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi movement claimed responsibility for the two prior attacks earlier in the week—which killed four people and damaged a commercial aircraft—no group has officially claimed responsibility for Saturday's strike. In response to the escalating situation, embassies of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Ireland issued urgent travel advisories directing their citizens to avoid the airport and surrounding areas.
