Saudi Civil Aviation Suspends All Flights at Riyadh's King Khalid Airport Following Fatal Missile Attack
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where flight operations have been suspended by GACA following Saturday's fatal missile attack.

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has officially suspended all flight operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh following a deadly Houthi missile attack on Saturday afternoon (October 10, 2026).

The strike—the third targeting the capital's main airport within a single week—resulted in at least 12 fatalities, including two Bangladeshi expatriates, and left 309 individuals injured. In a formal statement, GACA confirmed that operations will remain halted until full structural and safety inspections of civil aviation infrastructure are completed. Airport authorities issued an urgent travel advisory directing passengers to check directly with their respective airlines before heading to the airport. To support Saudi citizens stranded globally due to grounded and diverted flights, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructed affected travelers to contact nearby Saudi embassies and consulates for immediate assistance. Coming just two days after Thursday's attack that killed three people at the same facility, the escalation has heightened severe security concerns across Middle Eastern aviation networks.
