BJP Accuses Congress of Trying to Replicate Bangladesh-Style Unrest in India
BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari addressing a press conference in New Delhi regarding ongoing opposition protests across India.

India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sharply accused the opposition Indian National Congress of trying to trigger widespread political unrest across India similar to recent upheavals in Nepal and Bangladesh.

Addressing a press briefing on Thursday (October 8, 2026), BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari presented video footage of protests organized in New Delhi by the opposition INDIA alliance and the youth-led Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).

Bhandari claimed that Congress Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra engaged in physical altercations with police officers, revealing a strategy aimed at destabilizing the country out of desperation to capture power.

The political confrontation coincides with demonstrations held at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, where CJP founder Abhijit Dipke and prominent digital commentator Dhruv Rathee led a "People's Tribunal" alleging irregularities in voter list revisions and demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police registered two new cases against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra following violent clashes in central Delhi, as the Indian Youth Congress moved the Delhi High Court seeking permission for peaceful demonstrations at Jantar Mantar.
