Factory activity in China crept back into expansion territory in September, according to official data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 50.1, up from 49.8 in August and 49.2 in July. This first expansion since June follows the introduction of a new stimulus package by Beijing aimed at easing economic pressures, boosting low consumer spending, and stabilizing the property market.
Key sectors like equipment manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing, and consumer goods showed robust expansion. Additionally, the non-manufacturing PMI—covering services and construction—rebounded to 50.2, with construction activity hitting its highest level of the year, lifting overall economic sentiment.
